About the artwork:
Some Fragments is a hybrid installation constructed from small personal artefacts – both digital and physical – collected from the artist’s life and surroundings. The digital screen element of the artwork draws on material from his previous Internet-based compositions, whist the assortment of physical objects on display serve as a reminder of his corporeal existence. To Szpakowski the work embodies “a kind of ‘dream diary’ of [his] life.”

Michael Szpakowski is an artist whose eclectic background and career have given him a particular interest in the way different art forms interact. His work ranges from small domestically based pieces to larger scale, theatrical works dealing with broad social and historical themes.
